Generation Film!

So an online site entitled TheChive.com has put up a list of the top 50 movies every man should see in their lifetime. Going through the list there is only one film beyond the last 30 years that makes the list, meaning the list states that 98% of the best male oriented films were made in the last 2o or so years. I personally think it’s a list focused on overrated modern cult phenomenons such as The Boondock Saints and 300 as well as mediocre overplayed comedies including Anchorman and Old School. I’ve gone through the list and found only 12 titles on their list that I would keep. Their list is below with my chosen titles in bold print.

300, Aliens, American History X, American Psycho, Anchorman, Army of Darkness, Big Lebowski, Blade, Boondock Saints, Bourne Identity, Braveheart, Clerks, Commando, Conan the Barbarian, Dumb and Dumber, Escape from New York, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Fight Club, Gladiator, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Hot Fuzz, Inglorious Basterds, Jaws, Kill Bill, Lord of the Rings, No Country for Old Men, Office Space, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Old School, Predators, Pulp Fiction, Rambo, Reservoir Dogs, Robocop, The Rock, Rocky, Rounders, Scarface, Se7en, Shaun of the Dead, Shawshank Redemption, Snatch, There’s Something About Mary, Star Wars, Swingers, Terminator 2, Top Gun, True Lies, and The Usual Suspects.

Some people might glance at the list and think there really might not be anything wrong with it. However, below will be my replacement list of the top 50 male centric films that you should see. I’ll allow you to compare and contrast. Enjoy
